Celebrating Our Anniversary

Congregation Beth El was first chartered in 1911 and created its permanent home in 1919 in a former historic church building. This year, we are celebrating our 100th Anniversary as a Jewish community.

The following events are part of that celebration:

November 1, 2019, 8:00 PM: Shabbat service with guest speaker Rabbi Deborah Waxman, President, Reconstructing Judaism

November 2, 2019, 10:00 AM: Shabbat text study and brunch.  Rabbi Deborah Waxman will offer an historical perspective about American Judaism, using our archives as a reference.

November 9, 2019, 5:00 PM: Reception and performance - Havdalah, remembering Kristallnacht, followed by a performance of the opera Brundebar by the Bucknell Opera Theatre (performance starts at 6:15 PM), Weis Center for the Performing Arts, Lewisburg
